thinking
So, I’m thinking of starting a new blog, elsewhere. This blog I’ve watered down alot, and not shared alot, because 1) real people that I know read it and 2) the govt is scary.
So, I think it might be time for a change.
For those of you who would be interested in following me, please email me (ladycalliah@gmail.com) and let me know you’d like the invite when it’s ready.
This isn’t something definite, but I’m thinking about it anyways.
Need SOMEWHERE to put the shit that goes on in my head lol

Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your
assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them
off every once in a while, or the light won’t come in.

Redate: The Creative Anniversary Calculator
Ok, I feel old now. lol
Redate: The Creative Anniversary Calculator
The length of time since your date is:
38 years, 10 months, 1 weeks, 5 days, 18 hours, 20 minutes and 0 seconds

Blinking Amazing!
You’ve blinked about 204 million times in your life time. Apparently we blink about once ever four seconds, or 15 times a minute, and we’re asleep for a third of our lives.
Egg-citing cells!
If it could live that long, a human sperm could swim about 6.1 kilometres (about 3.8 miles). A healthy human sperm swims about 3mm a minutes (about a tenth of an inch).
Lightning speeds!
Light would have travelled about 367.73 million million kilometres (about 228.54 million million miles). Light travels at 299,792 kilometres in one second (186,298 miles per second).
Oh boy oh boy… oh girl…
There have been about 5,152 million people born. There’s also been about 2,208 million deaths, an overall increase in the World population of about 2,968 million people.
Got it nailed!
If left uncut, your fingernails would have grown about 99 centimetres (about 39 inches). They grow about an 2½cm (an inch) a year, four times faster than toenails.

another anniversary…
4 years ago today, my grandfather passed away. It came on very quickly, although he’d been sick most of his adult life. He’d had a stroke, but had recovered as much as he could. Then a few years later, he had another one, and because he was alone, no one knew for several hours. What the first one had taken, the 2nd one matched, plus. Now both sides were paralyzed. He begged not to be sedated, but they HAD to in order to asses him. That was it. He never came out of it, and things deteriorated from there. Everything shut down. It sucked.
He was ummm. . . cantankerous? It’s hard to describe him and not sound like a bitch. I loved him, but I didn’t love how he treated people, most especially my mother and Nana. They were like his lackies, and that BOTHERED me, for so many reasons.
In any case, when I got the phone call, we packed up the kid and drove the 4 hour drive, and actually made it – I got to say my goodbye, letting him know it was ok, that we all loved him. And then he died. It was eery, actually. My mother still insists that he waited for me to get there.
So, exactly 53 weeks after his wife of 56? years died, he did as well, and hopefully went to meet her, his brothers and family. I do hope that they both sit and crochet and watch over us. I hope he still gets pissed off over games of Sorry, and cooks them both dinner. and of course, there’s GOT to be Bingo in heaven, right?

20,000!
Well, sometime in the last few days, I’ve hit 20,000 on one of my counters. That one only counts unique visits, not each hit if you come back daily. So, supposedly, 20,000 – TWENTY THOUSAND – people have stopped by here since May, 2005. Holy Crap. LOL
I suppose that some of them were disappointed that I wasn’t constantly talking about kinky stuff – I’ve most definitely toned down what I’ve put here because I simply don’t want to lose my blog because someone gets an eyefull of clips, clamps, paddles and pussy.
I hope that some of them have enjoyed the silly stuff I”ve found, or the serious stuff I’ve posted about myself, my family or friends. I hope that some of them were at least moved somewhat. I hope that some were turned on somewhat. I hope that they’ve come back, but if they didn’t, well – I can respect that too.
It’s hard, with all the STUPID changes that have been imposed on us by our ever-vigilant government, several blogs have disappeared. Also, there are nasty, spiteful assholes in the world of blogs that are out to do nothing more than hurt people by exposing them! People come here to empty out these things in their head, to get them out so they can analyze them, and sometimes even let those things GO, out here in cyberspace. I know that’s why I started it. It helped me a TON, especially back before hubby & I were back on an even keel. I had all this shit in my head, and didn’t know what to do with it. I’d found that talking to my friends only laid the groundwork for them to dislike HIM, and give me advice such as “why do you let him LIVE THERE??”. These types of responses weren’t what I was looking for, but I understood that they were only trying to help THEIR FRIEND.
So I started posting here, and getting total strangers’ take on the situation, whatever it was. It helped tremendously to know that I wasn’t being a picky bitch (all of the time anyways), and I appreciated that. I also appreciate the people who kept coming back, and became interested IN my life, even as boring as it may seem to others.
So I’d like to give a heartfelt thank you to those regular readers, even if they DON’T always make themselves known. I’d like to ask that if you’ve never commented here, to please do so on this post – let me know who these 100+ a day visitors are, and perhaps give me a chance to pay them a visit as well.
Thank you everyone.

yet another
I got this from Dark Neuro , a new blog I ran across this morning and have subsequently blogrolled
Bernard Pivot’s questionnaire
These 10 questions originally came from a French series, “Bouillon de Culture” hosted by Bernard Pivot. It is probably more familiar to many as the questions James Lipton asks at the end of “Inside the Actor’s Studio.”
01. What is your favorite word? Love
02. What is your least favorite word? c*nt
03. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? being fully rested. It inspires me to do things.
04. What turns you off? Willfully ignorant people.
05. What is your favorite curse word? Fuck
06. What sound or noise do you love? the sound he makes when he’s wrapped around me, whispering in my ear.
07. What sound or noise do you hate? The cry that says “mom, I’m hurt” that my 2 yr old has.
08. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Professional photographer
09. What profession would you not like to do? pretty much anything profiled by Mike Rowe (Officially, he’s hot, but the jobs he attempts are NOT) on Dirty Jobs. ICK.
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? “wow, you made it?” or “Nana’s right here.”
