an underrated activity
As you know, hubby & I Have been together for nearly 10 years. In those 10 years, few things have remained constant. Our lives change nearly every year, with a new place to live, new things to explore. It’s been a mostly fun ride, and obviously if we’re still together, there’s still something *there*.
One of the most underrated activities that I think 2 people partake in is touching. He’s gone by the time I get up in the morning most days, then when he comes home, it’s dinner time, then we all seem to do our own thing. Do I always remember to kiss him hello? No. Sometimes, it seems that days go by without really touching and connecting physically. I love to touch him. His neck, his hair, his back, his ass. They’re all incredibly sexy to me, even after all these years.
So last night, the baby fell asleep early (the heat really did her in), and I got our son to go to bed a little earlier than usual as well. Then we waited. Finally, fearing that I’d fall asleep before he was ready to go to sleep, I went and stood at the door to his “room” where he was on his computer. He knew what I wanted. Whenever I send our son to bed early, he knows. And as is pretty much the standard in our relationship, I typically will let him know what I’m wanting out of that particular night’s activities.
Years ago, in the summer, we started doing this when it was just too warm to jump each other’s bones… we’d lie side by side, but upside down from each other - i.e. my head to his feet, and vice versa. Then, we just let our fingers do the walking. and talking. Touching, teasing, trailing fingers, poking, prodding, pleasing. I’ve always enjoyed this, not necessarily just because of the sexual aspect, but more just a reconnection. It makes me appreciate him more when I am able to FEEL his body (not just specific parts), not even touching mine except our hands. It’s truly an awesome time, and stretches the intimate moments from a 10 min quickie to a 90min to 2 hour experience. I LOVE these times and truly, I think it’s completely underrated.
It’s not just the marathon of seeing how many times or for how long… but the journey.
